More on your Garden

We have discovered a way of doubling/tripling the number of visitors who come in to look at the Church! It was quite simple really, but then it always seems easy after you have done something that works.
Eurico and Andras who respectively run the Mandolin Orchestra Concerts on Friday nights and the Songs from the Shows Concert on Sunday evenings both complained that their clients were walking past the entrance gates, not realizing the building was the church where the concerts were held, and could we do something to help?
The temporary answer, which became a permanent one, was an A frame double sided board on the pavement outside, with a very large arrow pointing into the drive, and initially the very large words “ENGLISH CHURCH” above. It worked brilliantly! Then we thought why can´t it be put outside every day? We did, and it worked! BUT the really inspirational idea, since we are so proud of the new garden, was to put the words ”AND GARDENS” in equally large letters underneath the arrow, and do you know it was the “and gardens” that doubled/tripled the people coming in to look around the church and gardens. Because while the number of people who get a kick out of looking round churches is limited, the numbers who are hooked on gardens is huge.
And the garden? Well it is still a baby but being sub tropical is different. Two new additions on the frame behind Phillippa are a Rangoon Creeper and a Jade Vine to go with the Golden Showers: which, when grown, will give a hedge of unusual flowering climbers!
The sign and the garden will be waiting for you on your next visit with a warm WELCOME on the mat too! Best wishes for a good 2012 from all of
The Garden Team.
