Future Plans for the English Church
A development group was established in late 2010 to look at the future priorities and development of the English Church in Madeira. The group is drawn from members of the Church Council and the broader Church community. The current members are Ed Barrow, Neil Dawson, Mike Duckett, Andrew Mumford and Bobbie Pote.
The group was established from the stewardship meetings, which were set up to discuss how members of the Church could become involved and take a more active part in its future.
Over the coming months we will be considering the key elements of a development plan to address the direction of the Church over the next five to ten years. The group will be drawing on the views and comments raised by members of the Church and those of the Church Council. Worship will be central to our plans. The group also considers issues such as communication and transparency as being essential elements of any development plan.
These are exciting times for the Church and the group seeks constructive input from the wider Church community.
We are also looking at a skills audit to see how people want to contribute and would welcome anyone who feels they can help the Church in any practical way whatsoever.
Any involvement, large or small, helps to promote our spiritual function, which must always be our primary role. The Church needs everyone to look after the fabric of the building and gardens, to visit the sick and the housebound, to welcome visitors and newcomers, to bake cakes, serve refreshments, make items to sell………. the list goes on! However much or little time you can spare, whether regularly or on a one off basis, will be warmly welcomed and gratefully accepted.
If there is anything that anyone feels able to contribute to ensure the future of Holy Trinity, please speak to any member of the development group or contact Ed Barrow via the Contact Us page.
